Once completed, you’ll be ready to shine as a Deputy Manager, Early Years Coordinator, Preschool Leader, Senior Key Worker, or Lead Practitioner. We understand that taking the next step in your Early Years career is a big decision. To help you feel confident and informed, we’ve answered some of the most common questions about the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship. If you have any additional questions, feel free to get in touch with us!

You’ll need to have completed a Level 3 qualification in Early Years or a related field. Having prior experience working in an Early Years setting will also be beneficial, as this apprenticeship is designed for those ready to step into leadership roles..

This apprenticeship will equip you with advanced leadership skills, helping you lead teams, set high standards for care, and ensure compliance with policies. You’ll also gain deeper knowledge in areas like child development, safeguarding, and curriculum planning.

The apprenticeship lasts 24 months, followed by a 12-week End-Point Assessment (EPA). You’ll learn through a combination of on-the-job training, online modules, and regular meetings with your Personal Tutor to track your progress and address any challenges.

Upon completion, you’ll be ready to take on senior roles such as Deputy Manager, Preschool Leader, or Early Years Coordinator. This qualification can also lead to specialist roles in early education, such as a SENCO or Lead Practitioner.
