Childcare Apprenticeship – Billericay

Day-Day Responsibilities:

• Create and Maintain a Stimulating Learning Environment – Design engaging indoor and outdoor play areas that promote curiosity, exploration, and learning, tailored to each child’s stage of development.
• Monitor and Support Children's Progres – Observe, assess, and record children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Use these observations to inform planning and individual support.
• Communicate Effectively with Parents and Carers – Build positive relationships with families by providing regular updates on their child’s progress, discussing concerns, and sharing strategies to support development at home.
• Lead One-to-One and Group Activities – Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning experiences, including storytelling, arts and crafts, sensory play, and early literacy and numeracy sessions, tailored to meet individual needs.
• Support Children’s Personal, Social, and Emotional Development – Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and emotional well-being, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all children.
• Share Ideas for Monthly Topics and Educational Trips – Contribute to planning meetings with creative ideas for monthly learning themes, cultural celebrations, and local outings that enrich children's learning experiences.
• Promote Health, Safety, and Safeguarding – Follow safeguarding procedures and risk assessments to ensure the safety and welfare of all children. Report concerns in line with setting policies.
• Collaborate with the Early Years Team – Work closely with colleagues to deliver consistent care and learning opportunities, supporting the daily routine and contributing to team planning and evaluation.
