Meet Kathryne Rance, a dynamic and dedicated member of the team at Building Blocks Christian Day Nursery, where she currently shines as the Nursery Deputy! Kathryne is on an exciting journey, working through her Level 5 Lead Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship with Shaping Lives, and she’s ready to make an impact!

Kathryne’s adventure in childcare kicked off six years ago when she stepped into the nursery with a temporary position to cover staff on leave. Little did she know, this would be the start of a fulfilling career! She soon transitioned to part-time work, and before long, she took on the role of keyworker full-time, where she’s been making magic happen for the past four years.

With a passion for teaching and a fascination with child development, Kathryne loves exploring how learning shapes little minds. She believes that working with children is incredibly rewarding, as it gives her the chance to help them learn and grow every day. As a hands-on keyworker, she dives into her role wholeheartedly, always striving to give her best and embrace every opportunity to learn.

Kathryne’s enthusiasm for her apprenticeship reflects her commitment to pushing her boundaries and showcasing her abilities. Recently, she earned a promotion to Nursery Deputy, where she’ll continue to learn and develop in her new role. With her vibrant spirit and dedication to early years education, Kathryne is truly shaping the lives of the children she works with and inspiring those around her!

Kathryne is buzzing with excitement about her journey with Shaping Lives! This is her first experience completing an apprenticeship with us, and she’s loving every moment of it. Working as a Deputy at the nursery while pursuing her Level 5 Lead Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship allows her to blend her passion for childcare with the thrill of learning. She’s constantly enhancing her knowledge, skills, and qualifications, all while taking on new challenges that help her grow both personally and professionally.

Having previously completed her Level 3 with a different provider, Kathryne faced some bumps along the way and didn’t have the best experience. But with Shaping Lives, she’s found a refreshing difference! She appreciates the regular monthly meetings and check-ins with her tutor, which provide her with the support and guidance she needs to thrive. Kathryne feels that her tutor truly understands her learning style and challenges her in just the right ways, making every tutorial engaging and relevant. This supportive relationship has made a significant impact on her confidence and growth.

Looking ahead, Kathryne is eager to take the next step in her career. Once she completes her Level 5 apprenticeship, she’s set her sights on a Level 6 apprenticeship, with the goal of earning her Early Years Teacher status. With her unwavering dedication and passion for the childcare sector, there’s no doubt that Kathryne will continue to inspire and shape the lives of the children she works with.
