Safeguarding means ensuring that everyone can live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. At Shaping Lives, we work closely with our learners, colleagues, and the employers we partner with to ensure they understand how to identify when someone is at risk and how to take appropriate action to protect them.
Harm can present itself in many forms, and our role is to educate and empower those we work with to recognise the signs and seek help when needed. Throughout their apprenticeship, our learners receive continuous education on safeguarding and how they can protect themselves and others. This is delivered through our included programme, which is embedded into every apprenticeship journey.
At Shaping Lives, we are dedicated to providing effective safeguarding measures for all of our apprentices. We respect our learners, intervene appropriately to protect them, and offer a comprehensive social education to support their well-being. Here’s how we ensure a safe learning environment:
We provide a secure and supportive space for all apprentices, with clear procedures in place and a dedicated safeguarding team accessible at all times.
We deliver safeguarding training to both learners and employers, making sure they understand what safeguarding is and how to address potential issues.
Safeguarding is treated with the highest importance. We work closely with employers to ensure that every apprentice is safe and supported in their workplace.
If necessary, we take immediate action to address any safeguarding concerns, ensuring our learners’ safety at all times.
We ensure that both learners and employers know how to report safeguarding concerns and access the support they need.
We work with the appropriate professionals and agencies to ensure learners receive the right support when needed.
If you’re concerned about a safeguarding issue, your first step should be to speak to the safeguarding officer in your company. If your organisation doesn’t have a safeguarding officer, or if you need further support, you can report your concern directly to Shaping Lives. We take all reports seriously and handle them sensitively through our trained safeguarding team.
